THE STORY

Every great strap begins with a hide chosen for its density and grain uniformity, and this one was selected for a client outfitting his father’s vintage dress watch for a fiftieth wedding anniversary. He wanted something that photographed like the original 1970s lizard band but wore like modern leather, so we pressed a fresh alligator emboss into calfskin instead of sourcing exotic skins. The result sat on his father’s wrist through the entire anniversary toast, and the family still calls it ‘the strap that made the old watch new again.’ It remains one of our most requested pairings for heirloom timepieces.
